Aschenputtel lebt bei ihrer Stiefmutter und ihren beiden Stiefschwestern. Seit dem Tod ihres Vaters muss sie im Haus die schwerste Arbeit erledigen. Sie schläft in der Asche neben dem Herd – deshalb nennen sie alle „Aschenputtel“.

Doch Aschenputtel ist freundlich und bleibt trotz allem stark. Am Grab ihrer Mutter wächst ein kleiner Haselbaum. Dort bittet sie um Hilfe – und die Vögel bringen ihr wunderschöne Kleider.

Als der König ein Fest veranstaltet, damit sein Sohn eine Braut findet, darf Aschenputtel eigentlich nicht mitgehen. Doch mit Hilfe des Haselbaums und der Vögel erscheint sie heimlich auf dem Fest – in einem prächtigen Kleid.

Der Prinz verliebt sich sofort in sie. Doch jedes Mal verschwindet sie wieder, bevor er erfährt, wer sie ist. Beim dritten Fest verliert sie einen goldenen Schuh.

Der Prinz sucht im ganzen Land nach der Besitzerin des Schuhs. Die Stiefschwestern versuchen zu betrügen – doch nur Aschenputtel passt der Schuh wirklich.

Am Ende erkennt der Prinz sie und nimmt sie zur Frau.

Cendrillon et le noisetier

Cendrillon vit avec sa belle-mère et ses deux belles-sœurs. Depuis la mort de son père, c’est elle qui doit accomplir les tâches les plus pénibles dans la maison. Elle dort dans les cendres près du poêle – c’est pourquoi tout le monde l’appelle « Cendrillon ».

Mais Cendrillon est gentille et reste forte malgré tout. Un petit noisetier pousse sur la tombe de sa mère. C’est là qu’elle demande de l’aide – et les oiseaux lui apportent de magnifiques robes.

Lorsque le roi organise une fête pour que son fils trouve une épouse, Cendrillon n’a en principe pas le droit d’y aller. Mais avec l’aide du noisetier et des oiseaux, elle se rend secrètement à la fête – dans une robe somptueuse.

Le prince tombe immédiatement amoureux d’elle. Mais à chaque fois, elle disparaît avant qu’il n’apprenne qui elle est. Lors de la troisième fête, elle perd une pantoufle dorée.

Le prince parcourt tout le pays à la recherche de la propriétaire de la pantoufle. Les demi-sœurs tentent de tricher, mais seule Cendrillon peut vraiment enfiler la pantoufle.

À la fin, le prince la reconnaît et l’épouse.

Cinderella and the Hazel Tree

Cinderella lives with her stepmother and her two stepsisters. Since her father’s death, she has had to do all the hardest work in the house. She sleeps in the ashes by the hearth – which is why everyone calls her ‘Cinderella’.

But Cinderella is kind-hearted and remains strong despite everything. A small hazel tree grows by her mother’s grave. There she asks for help – and the birds bring her beautiful dresses.

When the king organises a ball so that his son can find a bride, Cinderella is not actually allowed to go. But with the help of the hazel tree and the birds, she secretly appears at the ball – in a magnificent dress.

The prince falls in love with her immediately. But each time, she disappears again before he finds out who she is. At the third ball, she loses a golden slipper.

The prince searches the whole country for the owner of the shoe. The stepsisters try to cheat – but only Cinderella’s foot fits the shoe.

In the end, the prince recognises her and takes her as his wife.
