Brienz bears are famous, they are a tradition of their own in the wide world of Brienz woodcarving art. The stately animals are available in wood in all sizes, designs and bear moods. Whether as a bear wardrobe as an actual collector's item or as a cuddly toy. Bears are not only our cantonal animal, they have also grown close to our hearts....

... is always worthwhile! ... like this masterpiece made by Andreas Baumann (1812-1899) full of filigree particles and made out of lime tree wood. Isn't it fascinating what was already created over 100 years ago with great talent?...

... and on the Brienz quay the shavings will fly! Selected 20 woodcarvers will be inspired by the wonderful lake, the breathtaking scenery and their own creativity to create wonderful new works - go and watch them! The next few days will be dedicated to art and wood, to precision and skills, to fun and passion for carving! The museum is open daily (Wednesday - Sunday)....

Over 70 artists from all over the world wanted to take part - a new record! Look forward to an international field of woodcarving artists, wonderful creations on the legendary quay of Brienz and a supporting programme with many treats such as a children's programme, comedy and of course the legendary symposium party! The museum will of course be open during this time and there will also be live carving - Brienz, the home of wood carving!...
