Le march\u00e9 am\u00e9ricain \u00e9tait \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque domin\u00e9 par le march\u00e9 anglais. Un ascenseur hydraulique et du b\u00e9ton arm\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s comme nouveaut\u00e9s.<br \/>\nA cette \u00e9poque, beaucoup connaissaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 la sculpture sur bois de Brienz gr\u00e2ce aux expositions pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des magasins \u00e0 Londres et \u00e0 Paris ou \u00e0 des visites en Suisse. Salvisberg a remarqu\u00e9 que de grands progr\u00e8s avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s depuis Paris avec de nouvelles id\u00e9es et de nouveaux objets. Au moins la moiti\u00e9 des sculpteurs sont rentr\u00e9s chez eux avec des m\u00e9dailles. Avec un nombre de visiteurs d&rsquo;environ 22 millions, les r\u00e9sultats ont d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les attentes.
